Privacy Policy for Holper

Last updated: June 4, 2026

App: Holper (com.uludagcan.apps.holper)
Contact: uludagcan.apps@gmail.com

Summary

Holper helps you plan vacation around public holidays. Core features work offline. We do not collect account data, sell personal information, or operate servers that store your country choice, reminders, or notes.

The app uses Firebase Analytics (aggregated usage, such as which screens you open) and Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports to fix bugs). Those services are operated by Google. Your holiday preferences and notes stay on your device only.

Data we process

On your device only

Holper stores the following locally on your device using Android DataStore:

  • Your selected country (ISO code and display name)
  • Per-holiday reminder preferences (reminder offset, frequency, daily notification time)
  • Optional free-text notes you add when setting a reminder (up to 250 characters per holiday)
  • Whether you completed in-app onboarding

You can remove individual holiday reminders (and their notes) in the app. Clearing app data or uninstalling the app removes all locally stored preferences.

Bundled holiday data

Public holiday lists for 2026 and 2027 are bundled inside the app (JSON assets). Holper does not download holiday data from the internet when you use the app.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, Holper shows notifications that may include the holiday name, holiday date, and country name on your device (including on the lock screen, depending on your system settings). Your optional notes are not shown in notifications.

Analytics and crash reporting (Google Firebase)

When the app can reach the network, Holper may send:

  • Screen views — which in-app screens you open (e.g. holidays, settings), using predefined screen names
  • Custom events — limited actions such as selecting a country, saving a holiday reminder, or tapping “Report issue” (no email body or note text is sent)
  • Crash reports — stack traces and device/OS information when the app crashes, to help us fix defects

Firebase may also receive an app instance identifier and standard device metadata as described in Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not use Firebase for advertising or to upload your reminder notes.

What we do not collect

  • No account registration or sign-in
  • No server-side storage of your preferences or notes by Holper
  • No sale of personal information
  • No location, contacts, camera, or microphone access

Permissions

Holper may request these Android permissions:

Permission Why
Internet (INTERNET) To send analytics and crash reports to Firebase
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) To remind you before holidays at times you choose
Exact alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM) To deliver reminders at the exact times you set
Boot completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) To restore scheduled reminders after device restart

You can deny notification or exact-alarm permissions; reminders may be limited or delayed. If notification permission is denied, you can still save reminder settings and enable notifications later in system settings.

Network access

Holper does not require internet access for core features (country selection, holiday lists, reminders).

Network use may occur in these cases:

  • Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics — Aggregated usage and crash data as described above
  • Privacy policy link — When you open the privacy policy from Settings → About, your browser loads the page (user-initiated only)
  • Google Sans font — The app uses Google Sans via Android’s downloadable-fonts API. Google Play services may download the font from Google’s font provider. This is for typography only; Holper does not send your preferences or notes as part of font loading.

Third parties

Holiday data is sourced from bundled files maintained by the app developer, not from a live third-party holiday API.

Third-party services involved in normal use include:

  • Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics), governed by Google’s Privacy Policy
  • Google Play services (font provider for Google Sans), as described above

Open-source libraries

Dependency injection (Dagger Hilt) — Holper uses Dagger Hilt at compile time to wire app components. Hilt runs entirely on your device as part of the app; it does not collect, store, or transmit your data.

Children

Holper is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention and deletion

  • Reminder settings, optional notes, and country preferences remain on your device until you change them, delete individual reminders in the app, or clear app data.
  • Uninstalling the app removes locally stored data from your device.
  • Analytics and crash data retained by Google are subject to Firebase/Google retention policies.

Android backup

Holper excludes its preference storage (user_preferences DataStore) from Android backup, cloud backup, and device-to-device transfer. Your country selection, reminders, notes, and onboarding state are not included in those backups by design.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
